I am Karen, and I like to help women become healthier so that they can have healthy babies.

I like to think that motherhood begins the moment a woman learns she is pregnant.  I will never forget that day for me. I became so overwhelmed with emotion that our dog, Daisy came running to see what was the matter.  I can still feel her warm tongue on my cheek as she licked my tears of joy.

I knew right away that I wanted to provide the best possible environment for my unborn child. How I lived my life was not only affecting me, but this little miracle growing inside of me. Motherhood is a powerful thing.

I will be honest. I haven’t always been so healthy. In fact, for a lot of years I was very unhealthy. I remember eating junk food daily and not taking the time I needed to care for myself. I never considered my diet or nutrition. I didn’t realize what I was doing to myself and my body by eating all the wrong foods. I got sick often, had low energy and suffered from a variety of common health conditions. As I discovered later, I had developed candida, which is basically an overgrowth of yeast in the digestive tract. I also learned that I have a food intolerance to potatoes, something I had eaten often throughout my life! Luckily, I discovered these things. I learned that what you put into your body really can make a difference! It can give you more energy, strengthen your immunity, prevent disease, and yes, it can even increase fertility! The more I learned, the more I wanted to know. I stumbled upon holistic nutrition and knew that I had met my calling. Soon after becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, my husband and I became pregnant with our first and only child. I loved pregnancy! Yes, I had swollen ankles, heartburn and lower back pain. These are all normal pregnancy conditions that are so minor when you think that you are creating a child!  I am grateful for everything I learned about nutrition and the fact that I learned it before getting  pregnant.  I want to share it all with you now!

I am a holistic nutritionist and a mom. I have a passion for healthy living and babies!  It is my mission to educate and empower women (like you!) to create healthy lives for themselves and their families.   The foods you eat and the choices you make before, during and after pregnancy are all relevant to your own health as well as your baby’s.  I can help ensure that all of your nutritional needs are being met.
